IN THE MIDDLE OF WHAT WE SEE
A context hosts and gives perspective to what happens in its interior. Founded in its material architecture and live inhabitance by the people which dwell and go through it, a context moulds and render possible relationships and situations. Taking as inspiration and action field, the Poster Collection of the Portuguese artist Ernesto de Sousa, IN THE MIDDLE OF WHAT WE SEE inaugurated a site-specific projects lab using the principles of composition present in the collection and its exhibition. Through the activation of the perception of gallery spaces of Museu Berardo, a group of artists worked in collaboration for the creation and experimentation of these spaces in dialogue with the work of Ernesto de Sousa and his Poster Collection – Your Body is My Body.
The project took part of Veículo de Intimidade | Hoje, a series of dialogues and actions curated and organized by Luísa Metello Seixas and Inês Castaño, at Museu Berardo, in Lisbon.
